Tennessee native and former Democratic vice president Al Gore has reportedly won the top Climate Hypocrite Award, which is given to climate change alarmists who don’t practice what they preach.
This, according to The Washington Times, which said Gore beat New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York for the prize.
U.S. Republican Sen. Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma presented the award, the newspaper went on to say.
“Climate alarmists are eager to tell Americans that they need to take radical action, including going vegan, ending air travel, not having children and eliminating fossil fuels and nuclear energy, but they aren’t willing to back up their data or take the actions they prescribe to everyone else,” The Washington Times quoted Inhofe as saying.
According to The National Center for Public Policy Research’s website, “Inhofe’s infamous awardees included Michael Mann, Obama, Climate Summit participants and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.”
“Mr. Gore, who had no public comment on the jab, has been criticized for the energy demands of his 10,070-square-foot Nashville mansion, which in September 2016 burned through 34 times more electricity than the national monthly average,” according to the organization’s website.
As Senior Fellow Drew Johnson concluded in a report on Gore:
“Al Gore has attained a near-mythical status for his frenzied efforts to propagandize global warming. At the same time, Gore has done little to prove his commitment to the cause in his own life,” Johnson wrote. “While Gore encourages people throughout the world to reduce their carbon footprint and make drastic changes to cut energy consumption, Gore’s own home electricity use has hypocritically increased to more than 21 times the national average this past year with no sign of slowing down.”
As reported in May, Gore traveled to Australia to preach to the locals about climate change — at Australian taxpayers’ expense.
Gore reportedly did during a three-day climate change lecture in Queensland in at the Minister’s Climate Change event in Brisbane.

I don’t understand the last sentence
You need to give me more examples of hypocrisy by Gore, Jr., if any at all.
I do know that his late father, Gore, Sr. after he lost his bid for a fourth term in the U.S. Senate during the 1970 mid-term, started representing strip miners who have been destroying the Cumberland Plateau by their failure to undo the damage caused by their mining practices. As a Senator, Gore, Sr. had also opposed mass transit in favor of the constructing Interstate highways into low-income and minority neighborhoods such as North Nashville and Memphis. Even Senator Howard Baker, Jr. was to the left of Gore, Sr. on supporting mass transit by diverting Highway Lobby funds into public transit and environmental projects instead of car addiction endeavors.
Gore, Jr. was also guilty of selling out to the military industrial complex and the G.O.P. by his support for male-only draft registration in 1980, his pivotal vote for the Persian Gulf War in 1991, and his decision to allow war-monger Joe Lieberman to be his running mate in 2000. Lieberman’s loyalty was far less to the U.S. than it was to Israel. Lieberman is really a Tea Party Republican who has no place in the Democrat Party!
I don’t know, however, if Gore, Jr. has been hypocritical on environmental issues or not. If you can show me that he uses gas-guzzlers like Humvees or SUV’s when he could easily use mass transit to commute to his job, or any other evidence of hypocrisy, then please give me such examples and I will stand corrected.
Get a science background or find someone on your side with one to author articles. Gore is largely wrong, but so is the “global warming is a hoax” crowd.
